Family Health and Wellbeing Day at Kings Road

Kings Road Family Health & Wellbeing Day

Friday 15th November 2019

Dear Parents/Carers

We are excited to share the details of our Family Health & Wellbeing Day on Friday 15th November. This is set to be an exciting and rewarding experience for all involved, including staff, children and parents. The children will be involved in activities throughout the day to develop an understanding that good health and wellbeing ensures healthy lives and positive development for all ages.

The day will begin at 8.45 with a mass ‘Wake Up, Shake Up’ in the New Hall. We’d love to see as many of you there as possible, with your children. What a fun way to start the day!

We’d also like you to join us, with your children, for a shared mindfulness session. These will take place at various times during the day for each year group and will be followed by a short presentation about health and healthy lifestyles. Please attend the session relevant for you. We need to ensure that these sessions start on time, to allow each class to be involved. Therefore, please arrive at school in good time, ahead of the session, ready for a prompt start in the New Hall.

The timetable for the mindfulness sessions is as follows;

New Hall – Shared Mindfulness sessions and presentation (30 min slots)

  • 9.45 – Nursery am and Fulltime Nursery shared mindfulness (children to bring a small teddy bear or cuddly toy)
  • 10.15 – Reception shared mindfulness (children to bring a small teddy bear or cuddly toy)
  • 10.45 – Y1 shared mindfulness (children to bring a small teddy bear or cuddly toy)
  • 11.15 – Y2 shared mindfulness

  • 12.45 – Afternoon Nursery shared mindfulness (children to bring a small teddy bear or cuddly toy)
  • 1.15 – Y3 shared mindfulness
  • 1.45 – Y4 shared mindfulness
  • 2.15 – Y5 shared mindfulness
  • 2.45 – Y6 shared mindfulness

‘Children in Need’ day

This is also on the 15th November so we are tying the two together. We are asking staff and children to wear relaxed sportswear or PE kits (not football kits), to fit in with our ‘Health and

Wellbeing’ theme and to donate £1 for ‘Children in Need’, to give back and raise as much as we can for this brilliant charity.
