Free school meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically qualify for a Free School Meal under the universal scheme, regardless of the qualifying criteria for Free School Meals being met. However, if a parent of a child in any school year (Reception to Year 6) meets the qualifying criteria (usually being in receipt of benefits) for Free School Meals this can raise extra funding for your child’s school in order to help support your child’s learning. If you are unsure as to whether you meet the criteria then please just call the School office who will be able to advise you accordingly.
The universal offer of free school meals for all children in KS1 finishes once the children start Year 3 (KS2). This means that from Year 3 onwards you will be required to pay for your child’s school meals unless you are entitled to free school meals. In order to benefit from free school meals, if you think you are eligible, you will need to complete the School’s Free School Meal / Pupil Premium form which can be obtained from the School Office. This completed form should then be returned to the School Office for the attention of our Office Manager.
For further information please visit www.Trafford.gov.uk and scroll down to the tab which is titled ‘Schools,’ then click on ‘Free School Meals’ where you will find further information and access to application forms should they be required.
