Kings Road are pleased to announce they are a UNICEF UK Silver Rights Respecting School
Science Week Poster Competition!
This week is Science week and the theme is 'Change and Adapt'. We are holding a poster competition and there will be a fab science prize for the winner of each year group.
Pupils could create a poster showing how plants and animals adapt to changing seasons or surroundings, or how humans have adapted to changing technology. They could look at climate change and how we can adapt our behaviours to protect the environment, or their favourite science experiment and how it shows change. The more creative the interpretation of the theme, the better! Make your poster bright and bold to stand out from the crowd.
Entries are due in by 24th March and are to be given to Miss Grove or Mrs Glasgow. Please make sure your child's full name and class are on the back of the poster.
Good luck everyone!
Excitement is in the air! We have kicked off the day with Rock Kidz, where every moment has so far been filled with energy, joy, and laughter. From the very first note, the music had everyone’s feet tapping. The kids were totally engaged, singing along, and rocking out like true stars.
Have a look at the amazing words and costumes the children created for World Word day! It was amazing to see all the effort and hard work! well done to you all!
As part of our Mantle of the Expert: Kings Road Through the Ages event, our amazing staff have stepped back in time—in full costume—to bring history to life! 🕺💃
We’ve put together a fun dance video, showcasing different eras from the Palaeolithic period to the 2000s. Expect plenty of laughs, dodgy dance moves, and some surprisingly good performances!

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
The Governing Board is responsible for both the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards. The Governing Board carries out its role by ensuring the vision and ethos is established and that the school works efficiently and effectively. It does this by building a thorough knowledge of the school and its community, by both supporting and constructively challenging the school, and ensuring compliance. The Governing Board of our school is made up of various categories of Governors who all work together in the interest of children at the School. A vacancy has arisen for a Parent Governor. Before deciding whether to nominate yourself, you may want to know a bit more about what is involved. Governors need not be experts in the field of education. What they do need is an interest in the school and in the welfare of our children as well as the time and willingness to get involved. Training and support is available to Governors. You need the ability to be able to work as part of a team, to question proposals and contribute to discussions so that the Board can make good decisions. All Governors are expected to be able to read straightforward budget reports and data on school standards.
We expect Governors to:
· attend termly meetings of the full Governing Board
· contribute as a member of a Committee and attend termly meetings
· attend school events when possible to support the work of the school and improve your knowledge and understanding of the school
· attend training courses and be ready to be interviewed by Ofsted inspectors when necessary In return, we commit to:
· provide access to quality training
· provide you with access to our on-line GovernorHub portal giving easy access to documents, agendas and information to support you in your role
· If you would like to find out more about our current Governors and the work of the Board please see our website. You might also like to look at the information for prospective Governors on www.inspiringgovernance.org or via our Clerking Service www.trustgs.co.uk Please note that for the protection of children all governor appointments are subject to a DBS check and identity check. If you would like to put yourself forward as a candidate, please complete and return the attached documents to the School Office no later than the 5th February 2025. Your nomination should be accompanied by a short personal statement which should include (in no more than 250 words please):
· evidence of the extent to which you possess the skills and experience the Governing Board desires;
· your commitment to undertake training to acquire or develop the skills to be an effective Governor;
· if seeking re-election, details of your contribution to the work of the Governing Board during your previous term of office; and
· how you plan to contribute to the future work of the Governing Board. If it is necessary for there to be an election, I will contact you to let you know about the arrangements.
Yours sincerely Mr Morgan

"Listen to the future. Stand up for children’s rights."
World Children’s Day (20th Nov) is UNICEF’s global day of action for children marking 35 years since the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
This Wednesday 20th November Kings Road will be celebrating World Children’s Day!
We are asking the children to WEAR BLUE TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT. We are also suggesting a £2 donation for UNICEF which can be handed to the class teacher.
World Children’s Day is a global day of action for children, by children! At Kings Road children have been learning about their rights and through working with UNICEF to understand that they are protected through a special United Nations treaty called the ‘Convention on the Rights of the Child’. To mark 35 years of the convention. Kings Road will be supporting UNICEF and celebrating children’s ideas.
World Mental Health Day also known as 'Hello Yellow' is on 10th October.
To mark this special day, we encourage everyone (children and staff) to wear something yellow please 🙂 This will not be a fundraising event but just a day to observe this fab cause.
